JOB SUMMARY
IMMEDIATE HIRE for an experienced Network Data Center Engineer. This will be a 6+ month contract opportunity (potential to extend) located in Scottsdale, AZ. You will provide network support of day-to-day operations including deployment of new network devices and some limited planning and engineering. This opportunity requires a combination of technical documenting and self-governing abilities, as well as a desire and ability to offer consulting, research, planning, and leadership skills.
Prior experience performing network support and implementations are a MUST as well as experience supporting networks in environments of simple to moderate to high complexity and scale. You should be energetic, creative, self-motivated professionals who are confident in their ability to provide consistent, superior work. Individual must have a positive outlook, can learn quickly and provide visible contributions. Must enjoy working in a team-centric environment but capable of functioning independently and with little supervision.
Design, engineer, and create the necessary Scripting and configurations required. Hands on work to install Network (Router, switch, Firewall) components. Work with internal and external customers to develop and implement solutions. Work with internal customers to help develop technical solutions during solutions design phase. Work with Project Managers to understand project priorities and help sequence network engineering components accordingly. Communicate within project teams to help establish resource availabilities deliverables and expectations (time/resource requirements). Effectively identify and communicate risks during course of projects. Work independently and with teams to ensure compliance of solutions with corporate policies. Provide sufficiently detailed solution documentation updates. Coordinate with proper team to ensure appropriate monitoring of new solutions is included as part of roll out. Understand utilization (traffic) and implement traffic management activities based on approved architecture to meet the customer’s needs, and network performance/capacity guidelines. As 3rd level support, respond to escalations, tickets, and alerts from Operations issued to network team in a timely manner. Provide resolution information and work with other teams to complete impact analysis where appropriate. Provide required documentation and reviews for change management approval, implement according to plan.REQUIRED
Minimum 3 – 5 years experience in design and implementation experience in Data Center environments. Must be experienced with multi-protocol, multi-tiered Cisco Router and Switches. Must be knowledgeable of challenges and requirements posed by high traffic Data Centers. Must be able to handle multiple projects concurrently. Strong troubleshooting skills. Must be able to work occasional after hours as needed for Implementation and Troubleshooting support. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate complex technical information in a concise and articulate manner. Must be flexible and creative to adapt to environments where functional and business objectives evolve and change rapidly. Must be a capable individual contributor with ability to work with other departments and coordinate activities. Strong customer service skills are essential. Must have proven ability to manage other vendor relationships (carriers, Cisco, HP hardware vendors, etc), translate business requirements into technical delivery plans, and execute plans into Delivery. Must keep abreast of changes in technology currently deployed. Must be organized and proficient with accounting for time, billing specifics, and company reporting activities. Self motivated to take ownership of duties and able to effectively manage their own time without immediate supervision. Ability to accept constructive feedback via manager observations and peer review and use it to improve performance.EDUCATION
4 year degree highly desired – will accept ample work experience in lieu of degree.
CERTIFICATIONS
CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, CISSP – highly desired.
